Any common conditions I see in pets are cataracts and how I approach them is we look under a microscope to see whether the retina is damaged or the optic nerves and for treatment we usually go to surgery we sedatively you know safely conduct the surgery and we remove the top layer of the eye and the results are for the animals to see.

I've been staying with the current advancements in Veterinary ophthalmology we try to research them to see whether it's safe for the operating room for the animal whether it's a newly updated technology that still need researching in and we try to research them and just for the safety of the animals and also implementing new technology definitely helps with Ophthalmology just because there's only so much we can do just with their hands and when incorporating new technology we are able to get in the nooks and crannies of the eye or other places we cannot reach

Challenging case that I have handled with the vet in their Ophthalmology was when an animal came in and there was an incident where a piece of glass went through their eyes and it was very difficult because we wanted to preserve some eyesight just because this animal had passed history with eye issues like this animal had recently got cataracts and cherry eye so in this case we we had the glass right and it was going into the Arctic nerve the and also through the retina so it was very hard to find a solution that would safely take it out without further damage but also to not damage his eyesight because of his past history so what we did was using scaffolds and the new technology like DaVinci a robot to successfully take out this 5 mm glass that was in this animal's eye
