Topic(s): How It Would Be For Me To Be A Teacher And If I Would Be Able To Teach A Subject I Would Want To Do
Can you tell us a little about your educational background and what inspired you to become a high school teacher?
Candidate's Answer:I wanted to become a teacher when I was put in an education class that, at first, I didn't want to be in, but after months of being in that class, I started to think about wanting to become a teacher and what it would be like to teach children. My teacher had inspired me to want to teach. I never thought that I would want to teach until I started in her education class when I started to learn about children and teaching and how teachers help students figure out what they want to do in their lives. Teaching ended up wanting to be my dream job. Even after I was set on being a child psychologist, I wanted to become a psychologist because I wanted to help children get through what they are going through by talking to them and telling them that I have gone through things like what they have been going through for us to get an understanding.
Evaluation:Your answer effectively conveys your journey to becoming a high school teacher, showcasing personal inspiration and a desire to help students. You provide a clear narrative of how an education class initially piqued your interest, and how your teacher served as a motivating figure. This connection is important in a teaching context, as it emphasizes the impact educators can have on their students.
However, while your answer is heartfelt, it could benefit from a bit more structure and clarity. You might consider breaking it into more concise sentences to improve readability and impact. For example, directly highlighting key points—such as your initial resistance, eventual passion for teaching, and the specific qualities that inspired you about your teacher—would strengthen your message. Additionally, you may want to briefly discuss how your background and experiences relate to the subject you wish to teach, making your aspirations even clearer.
In summary, your answer shows dedication and a genuine desire to educate, but refining it for clarity and focus will enhance its effectiveness.
