Interview Question:

How have you utilized GIS technology in the formulation of master plans for urban areas?

Candidate's Answer:

I utilised GIS in mapping locations and to see Spatio -Temporal Change Analyses using Land-use/land cover and landsat sattelite imagery also calculating normalised Difference vegetation index to access quality of green spaces.

AI Evaluation:

Your answer is quite good and demonstrates a clear understanding of how GIS technology can be utilized in the formulation of master plans for urban areas. By using GIS for mapping locations and conducting Spatio-Temporal Change Analyses using land-use/land cover and Landsat satellite imagery, you were able to gain valuable insights into the current state of the urban area. Additionally, calculating the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) to assess the quality of green spaces shows a thoughtful approach to incorporating environmental factors into urban planning.

To improve your answer, you could consider providing specific examples of how the data obtained through GIS analysis informed decision-making in the formulation of master plans. For instance, you could mention how identifying areas with high NDVI values influenced the allocation of green spaces in the master plan or how land-use change analysis helped identify areas for infrastructure development.

Overall, I would rate your answer a 4/5. It effectively highlights the use of GIS technology in urban planning and showcases your expertise in the field. Adding specific examples to illustrate the impact of GIS analysis on the master plan formulation process would further strengthen your response.
