What attracted you to apply for the Sales Development Intern position at Oracle?

Yeah so besides being interested in Tech sales in general I think Oracle really stood out to me because as I was doing my initial Outreach to current sdr's pdrs and AES I would say Oracle was by far the most helpful everyone I spoke to was open to talk open provide tips and I can tell they actually wanted me to succeed which was an amazing feeling but I guess the sales will enroll in general I want to be able to have the chance to control my income and work at a highly competitive company that's making major changes in every single industry and I want to have the chance to change the world Company by company through the tech industry and Oracle is doing just that

Can you describe a time when you had to qualify a lead or opportunity? How did you approach it?

Yes this question brings you back to the beginning of Q3 this year so me and my team of sdrs were getting a solid amount of leads booked on the calendar but the problem was when it came to close the prospect many of them were just simply put unqualified or didn't have the capital to invest with us so what we did was we look back at our processes our workflows and we realize that our qualification stage of the discovery call was not clear enough and we aren't always getting a liquid amount of cash that the prospect would have so what we did was we thought of a way to reframe the qualification question so we took it from how much cash would you be able to invest to more of a descriptive and clear question asking them if you had the perfect property lined up how much liquid Capital would you be able to invest into that property today and that slight reframe of the question help us get tons more qualified leads on the calendar and it made the entire sales process a lot easier and I think it goes to show how much 1% changes can change the outcome of the entire process

Yeah so the change from b2c to consultative B2B selling is going to be a bit of a learning curve for me no doubt and I know that I have to work and put my skills up on that aspect but from what I understand now the consultative selling approach is it's more of a problem solving role than a sales role at the end of the day and I think the biggest part of it is being able to understand a company kind of break down their needs what's holding them back some of the bottlenecks and being able to really see how a business operates and how they could benefit from our specific vertical or one of our products so I think all in all it's just a matter of having more of that back end knowledge of multiple different business models how they work and what they would need as opposed to direct b2celling words playing heavily on emotion and using sales tactics
