Interview Question:

How have you successfully managed global carbon projects in the past?

Candidate's Answer:

Thank you for that question. my approach to ensuring a successful project is by following a systematic approach that ensures seamless process flow.
my first step has always been to understand the project scope, deliverables, and KPIs of the project. i always ensure to ask questions from my direct manager to gain clarity of the expectations they have for the project, the timelines tied to the project, our obligations to the investors and other stakeholders
communication:
I then generate a work plan tied to the departmental calendar, ensuring that my deliverables are at least one week before the deadlines to allow for buffer time. one such application that I use is Smart Sheets and MS projects
I then communicate with supporting departments in an inception meeting detailing specific responsibilities and timelines. I ensure to organize daily check-ins to monitor the project and to capture any deviations , bottlenecks or obstacles at the earliest stage .
in the case that the project has encountered any delays, I would find solutions to mitigate the challenges such as reallocation of resources, and reevaluate the timelis
I also ensure to stay current with industry trends, guidelines, and best practices. this would enable me to anticipate any potential compliance issues
